- Whether it slammed shut or was locked with a key turn.
- Whether the key broke inside the lock.
How is it done properly?
- Ask for ID or a document showing you live at the address before opening.
- Try to open it first without damaging the door or the lock.
- Tell you up front if drilling or a new cylinder is needed, and the price.
- After opening, check the lock locks and opens.
