Shutter repair
Updated 2026-10-10
A torn strap, a shutter stuck halfway, or slats out of the track. In D-Bell you book a professional to repair manual shutters, and get quotes before you choose.
How much does shutter repair cost?
Shutter repair usually costs ILS 230 to 360. Replacing a balcony shutter strap costs ILS 240 to 400, and a mechanism ILS 370 to 570. A diagnostic visit costs ILS 240 to 350. These are average D-Bell catalog ranges.
Common faults
- A torn or worn strap that no longer lifts the shutter.
- A broken roller mechanism inside the box.
- Broken slats or slats out of the track.
- A shutter stuck halfway that goes neither up nor down.
What do I do when the shutter jams?
Do not yank the strap or lift the slats by hand. That can break the mechanism or the slats. Photograph the shutter and strap, and say which window it is and how wide.
How is it done properly?
- Identify the shutter type and bring a matching strap, pulley, or slats.
- Open the shutter box carefully and check the axle and the spring.
- Replace a worn strap in full rather than knotting it.
- Put slats back in the track and clean the tracks.
- Open and close it fully several times and check it stops where it should.
