Anchoring furniture to the wall
Updated 2026-10-10
A tall wardrobe, bookcase, or dresser standing free by the wall. A climbing child or several open drawers are enough to tip it over. In D-Bell you book a handyman to anchor it, and get quotes before you choose.
How much does wall anchoring cost?
Anchoring a piece of furniture usually costs ILS 150 to 300 per item. When several are anchored in one visit, the price per item usually drops. This is an average D-Bell catalog range.
What should be anchored?
- Tall wardrobes and bookcases.
- Dressers with drawers, especially in children’s rooms.
- TV units with the screen standing on them.
- Freestanding shelving in a storeroom or kitchen.
How is it anchored?
The top of the furniture is fixed to the wall with metal brackets or a strap and anchors that suit the wall. Most new furniture comes with a kit, but its anchors do not always suit block or drywall. Say what the wall or ceiling is made of: block, concrete, or drywall, and add a photo. Before drilling, the professional checks for pipes and wiring, and you do not drill into a safe room (mamad) without checking Home Front Command guidance.
