Dedicated AC power point
Updated 2026-10-10
Installing a new AC in a room with no suitable point, or an AC that keeps tripping the power. In D-Bell you book an electrician for a dedicated point, and get quotes before you choose.
How much does an AC power point cost?
A dedicated AC power point usually costs ILS 450 to 900. The price depends on the distance from the panel and whether the cable runs inside the wall or in trunking. Hourly electrical work costs ILS 240 to 410 per hour. These are average D-Bell catalog ranges.
Why not a regular outlet?
An AC runs for hours on end, and a large unit draws a high current. A dedicated circuit with a matching breaker stops the wires overheating and stops the AC tripping the whole room.
Coordinate with the AC installer
- Where the indoor unit will go, so the point is close to it.
- The AC power rating, from its spec sheet.
- Whether the panel has room for another breaker.
How is it done properly?
- Check the AC’s power rating and the maker’s requirements.
- Run a dedicated line from the panel, sized for the unit.
- Fit a dedicated breaker and label it in the panel.
- Place the point by the unit’s location, coordinated with the AC installer.
- Test the point, including the earth, before the AC is connected.
