Induction cooktop and oven hookup
Updated 2026-10-10
Switching from gas to induction, or fitting a new built-in oven. Appliances like these draw a lot of power and need connecting properly. In D-Bell you book an electrician, and get quotes before you choose.
How much does the hookup cost?
Connecting an induction cooktop or oven usually costs ILS 350 to 750. If there is no suitable circuit by the kitchen, a new electrical point costs ILS 420 to 770. These are average D-Bell catalog ranges.
Why a separate circuit?
An induction cooktop and a built-in oven draw far more than a regular outlet can carry for long. So they connect to a dedicated circuit with its own breaker in the panel. A regular outlet can overheat the wires and trip the power.
What should I check before buying?
- How much power the appliance draws, from its spec sheet.
- Whether the panel has room for another breaker.
- Whether the apartment has single phase or three phase power.
Photograph the electrical panel with the cover open and send it in the request. From the photo the electrician sees how much space there is and which breakers are fitted.
How is it done properly?
- Check the requirements in the cooktop or oven manual.
- Run a dedicated line from the panel sized for the power, if there is none.
- Fit a breaker of the right size and wire for the appliance’s number of phases.
- Connect the earth and tighten the connections in the box.
- Run every cooking zone or the oven at full power and check the breaker holds.
