Ceiling fan installation
Updated 2026-10-10
A ceiling fan cools the room without running the AC all the time. In D-Bell you book an electrician to install the fan firmly and wire it up, and you get a quote before you choose.
How much does installing a ceiling fan cost?
Installing a ceiling fan usually costs ILS 280 to 440. If there is a lamp to take down, or you want a lamp elsewhere in the room, installing a light fixture costs ILS 240 to 400. These are average D-Bell catalog ranges, and the fan comes from you.
What does the ceiling need?
A fan turns and vibrates, so it needs strong anchoring in a concrete ceiling or a joist, not just drywall. It usually goes where there is an existing light point. In a dropped ceiling the electrician checks whether there is a suitable anchor above the drywall, and if not, notes in the quote what must be added.
What should I write in the request?
- Ceiling height and whether it is concrete or drywall.
- Whether the fan has a light and a remote, and whether you also want a wall switch.
- A photo of the ceiling at the spot and of the fan box.
How is it done properly?
- Check the ceiling point is fixed to concrete or a beam, not just plasterboard.
- Fix the bracket with anchors that take the weight and the vibration.
- Wire the fan with an earth, and the remote or switch per the maker’s instructions.
- Balance the blades so it does not wobble at high speed.
- Check every speed, the light if there is one, and the direction of rotation.
