EV charger installation
Updated 2026-10-10
You bought an electric car and want to charge at home, without an extension cord from the window. In D-Bell you book a licensed electrician to install a charger, and get quotes before you choose.
How much does EV charger installation cost?
Installing a charger usually costs ILS 2500 to 5500, not including the charger. The price depends mainly on the distance from the panel to the parking spot. If the panel cannot carry the load, it may need replacing too, ILS 2800 to 5500. These are average D-Bell catalog ranges.
What affects the job?
- Where the power comes from: the apartment panel or the building panel.
- Cable length and the route to the parking spot.
- Single phase or three phase, and the size of the existing connection.
- Whether the charger is outdoors and needs water protection.
In a shared building
In a shared building’s parking, coordinate in advance with the house committee or management company, and check which panel the power will come from and how use will be metered. Say in the request whether your spot is assigned and on which parking level.
How is it done properly?
- Check the home’s supply size and that there is enough current for the charger.
- Run a dedicated line from the panel, with cable sized for the charging power.
- Install a dedicated breaker and a residual-current device of a type suited to EV charging.
- Mount the charger in a protected spot at a height that suits the cable.
- Test a charge with the car and set up the charger’s app, if it has one.
