Electrical panel replacement
Updated 2026-10-10
An old panel with fuses, no room for another circuit, or no working residual current device. In D-Bell you book a licensed electrician to replace the panel, and get quotes before you choose.
How much does panel replacement cost?
Replacing an apartment electrical panel usually costs ILS 2800 to 5500. If only the RCD or main breaker needs replacing, that costs ILS 340 to 590. These are average D-Bell catalog ranges.
When is a panel replaced?
- The panel is old, with fuses or breakers that get hot.
- There is no RCD, or it fails the test.
- You are adding AC units, an induction cooktop, or an EV charger, and there is no room.
- There is a burning smell or soot marks in the panel.
Who replaces a panel?
Work in the electrical panel is allowed only for an electrician with a suitable license. At the end, ask for every circuit to be clearly labeled. Photograph the electrical panel with the cover open and send it in the request. From the photo the electrician sees how much space there is and which breakers are fitted.
How is it done properly?
- Map every circuit in the home before removing the old panel.
- Plan the panel with breakers and a residual-current device for the load, plus spare room to expand.
- Connect each circuit to a breaker matched to its cable size.
- Label every breaker so you know what it feeds.
- Test insulation, earthing, and the residual-current device before restoring power.
