AC repair
Updated 2026-10-10
The AC runs but does not cool, will not switch on, or shuts off after a few minutes? In D-Bell you describe what happens, add a short video of the unit, and get quotes from verified AC technicians.
What should I check before booking?
- That the remote is on cooling mode and set below the room temperature. Replace the batteries if the display is faint.
- That the AC breaker in the panel is up.
- That the filters are not clogged with dust. A clogged filter weakens cooling a lot.
- That the outdoor unit is not blocked by objects or laundry.
How much does an AC repair cost?
An AC technician diagnostic visit usually costs ILS 260 to 380. Replacing the capacitor costs ILS 390 to 620, and a temperature sensor ILS 350 to 630. If it turns out to be low on gas, the refill is priced from the catalog. These are average D-Bell catalog ranges, and parts are usually extra.
What are the common faults?
A failed capacitor is a common reason the outdoor unit will not start: you hear a hum, but the outdoor fan does not turn. A faulty temperature sensor makes the AC shut off early or not cool. An AC that cools weakly after years may be low on gas. The technician measures and checks before replacing a part.
How is it done properly?
- Diagnose before replacing anything: power, pressures, sensors, and the capacitor.
- Tell you what the fault is and what it costs before starting the repair.
- Fit a part that matches the AC model.
- Clean the filters at the end of the visit.
- Run the AC and check cooling, draining, and noise.
