How much does AC installation cost?
Installing a wall-mounted split AC usually costs ILS 740 to 1940. The price depends mainly on the pipe length between the indoor and outdoor units, the height and access to the outdoor unit, and whether there is already a pre-installation. If the AC needs a new electrical point, the electrician’s work costs ILS 420 to 770. These are average D-Bell catalog ranges.
What is a pre-installation?
A pre-installation is piping, a drain pipe, and cables already running inside the wall between the indoor and outdoor spots, usually in newer buildings. With one, installation is shorter and simpler. Without one, the technician drills through the wall and runs external piping in a trunking. Write whether you have one, and photograph both spots.
What should I check before installing?
- That there is a suitable outlet or electrical point near the indoor unit.
- Where the drain water will go: a wall drain, a gutter, or a planter, not the sidewalk or a neighbor’s balcony.
- Where the outdoor unit will sit: a laundry enclosure, the roof, or the wall, and whether it can be reached without a crane.
- In a shared building, whether the house committee has rules about units on the facade.
What does installation include?
Mounting the indoor unit level with a slight slope toward the drain, drilling the passage, connecting pipes and cables, installing the outdoor unit, evacuating the air from the pipes, and a test run. Materials such as extra piping, trunking, or a bracket for the outdoor unit are usually priced separately and listed in the quote.
