Security camera installation
Updated 2026-10-10
Want to see from your phone who is at the door, or what is happening in the parking spot or yard? In D-Bell you book a security technician who plans where each camera goes, installs it, and sets up phone viewing, and you get quotes before you choose.
How much does a camera system cost?
A four-camera analog HD system usually costs ILS 3300 to 4800, a four-camera IP system ILS 4500 to 6600, and an eight-camera system ILS 6500 to 10500. Adding a camera to an existing system costs ILS 500 to 950, a disguised camera ILS 550 to 900, and a camera microphone ILS 150 to 400. Setting up phone viewing costs ILS 180 to 350. These are average D-Bell catalog ranges.
Analog or IP cameras?
Analog HD cameras cost less and suit most homes, especially where cables from an earlier install are already in place. IP cameras usually give a sharper picture and features such as smart motion detection, and run over network cable. The technician recommends based on the number of cameras, distances, and budget.
Where may a camera point?
Point cameras at your own space: the door, the yard, the parking spot. A camera filming into a neighbor’s home or yard invades their privacy. In a shared building, a camera in the lobby or stairwell is installed in coordination with the building committee. Where there is a camera, a sign saying so is a good idea.
What should I write in the request?
- How many cameras and where, indoors or outdoors.
- Where the recorder will stand, and whether there is an outlet and a router there.
- Whether there are already cables or an old system.
- Photos of the places you want covered.
How is it done properly?
- Walk through the spots that matter with you, and check the angle and lighting at each one.
- Point cameras only at your own space, never into neighbors’ homes.
- Run cables in conduit or trunking, and protect outdoor connections from rain.
- Set up the recorder, the retention time, and phone viewing.
- Change the default password and show you how to view and download a recording.
