How much does water heater repair cost?
A water heater repair usually costs ILS 340 to 490. A new element costs ILS 340 to 500, a pressure valve ILS 300 to 430, and a solar flange ILS 520 to 820. A 150-litre solar tank replacement costs ILS 2500 to 3320. Parts are usually extra.
Why is the water heater not heating?
Usually a burnt element, a faulty thermostat, a tripped breaker, or scale inside the tank. If the breaker keeps tripping, do not force it back on: that points to an electrical fault.
Before the visit
- Switch off the heater breaker.
- If it leaks, close the inlet valve.
- Photograph the label and the leak.
- Say where the heater is and whether there is roof access.
How is it done properly?
- Disconnect the heater from power before any check.
- Test the element, the thermostat, and the connections before replacing a part.
- Replace only the faulty part, and tell you if the tank itself is at the end of its life.
- On a solar heater, also check the collectors and the pipes on the roof.
- Fill the tank with water before reconnecting power, and check for leaks.
