How much does door painting cost?

What is special about painting a door?
Doors and frames are painted with paint suited to wood or metal and resistant to scuffs, not ordinary wall paint. Before painting, the door is sanded, scratches are filled, and the handle and hinges are removed or masked.
What should the request say?
- How many doors, and whether frames are included.
- The door material: wood, laminate, or metal.
- Whether you want the same color or a new one.
How is it done properly?
- Remove handles and hardware, or mask them with tape.
- Degrease and lightly sand so the paint grips.
- Fill holes and scratches with filler and sand them.
- Paint with a product suited to wood or metal, in thin coats.
- Let each coat dry before the next, and leave the door open until dry.
