How much does a network point cost?
A new network point usually costs ILS 250 to 450 per point, and a network cabinet tidy-up ILS 450 to 1000. Network technician work by the hour costs ILS 180 to 320. These are average D-Bell catalog ranges.
When does cable beat Wi-Fi?
For a work computer, a games console, a TV streaming in high quality, and IP cameras, a cable gives a steadier, faster connection. Wi-Fi weakens through concrete walls and a safe room, and a cable from the router to an extra access point fixes that in far rooms.
What does a cabinet tidy-up include?
Organizing and labeling the cables, connecting them to a switch, checking that every point in the home works, and a neat place for the router and devices. Say in the request what is in the cabinet today, and add a photo.
How is it done properly?
- Check where the internet comes in and where the point is needed, and look for an empty conduit in the wall before opening a trunking run.
- Pull one continuous network cable from the cabinet to the socket, with no joints and away from power cables.
- Terminate the cable at the socket and the panel to the same wiring standard at both ends.
- Test each point with a cable tester and make sure the computer or TV gets full speed.
- Label every cable in the cabinet, tidy the router and switch, and leave room for airflow.
